Harold L. "Sparky" Long, 67, of Williamsport, passed away June 24, 2017, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born Aug. 26, 1949, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Orville F. Long and Valaria V. (Federowicz) Long, of Williamsport.
Harold was a graduate of Williamsport High School. Following graduation he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was formerly employed at Lycoming Supply and Avco Lycoming.
He was a member and former Corner Master of the VFW Post 844. He was also, a Scout Master of Troop 3 and committee member. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, scratch off lottery tickets and was a model train collector.
Surviving in addition to his mother are two brothers, Michael J. Long (Cheryl), of Williamsport and Franklin P. Long, of New Castle; a sister, Catherine L. Spotts (Stephen), of Williamsport; three nephews, Franklin Workman and Josh and Cain Long; and a niece, Cassie Spotts.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas E. Long and two sisters, Theresa Workman and Annette Long.
A graveside service to honor the life of Harold will be held 3 p.m. Friday, June 30 in Wildwood Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard.
