Thomas Lee "Tom" Holland, 91, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at the Gatehouse. Surviving is his beloved wife of 64 years, Marjorie E. (Smith) Holland.
Born November 6, 1932, in Auburn, Ny. and raised in King Ferry, Ny., he was a son of the late Lee V. and Marjorie H. (McCormick) Holland.
Tom graduated from King Ferry Central School in 1950 and continued his education at Clarkson University, where he earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1954. Following graduation Tom served his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps as a 1st Lieutenant. He later retired in 1989 as an engineer at Textron Lycoming, after 35 years of employment.
Tom was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish and was active in various associations, including the American Legion Post #1, VFW Post #7863, Duboistown, Marine Corps League Williamsport Detachment #388, and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #145, South Williamsport. In his younger years, Tom enjoyed hunting and spending time at the cabin. He also enjoyed traveling to Florida every year with his wife since, 1988.
Surviving are his two children, Thomas L. Holland II of Aurora, Ny., and Diane L. Kohler of Williamsport.
Mass of Christian Burial to honor the life of Tom will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, at St. Joseph the Worker Parish 702 West Fourth Street, Williamsport with the Rev. David W. Bechtel officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tom’s name to the Marine Corps League Williamsport Detachment #388 507 Cemetery Street Williamsport, PA 17701.
