Stanley H. "Butch" Bower ,86, of Williamsport passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at his home. Born May 24, 1938, Butch was a son of the late Howard and Marion Whitter Bower.
Butch was a graduate of Williamsport High School, He retired from AVCO/Textron after 33 years of service, where his commitment and industrious nature were evident to all who worked alongside him. Butch's professional life was marked by a strong work ethic and a willingness to lend a helping hand whenever needed.
Butch was an avid fisherman, a sharp pool player, and a competitive dart thrower. His love for bowling saw him spend many happy hours at the lanes. A long-time member of the Polish Club, he also had a love for country western music and unwavering support for the Phillies baseball team.
Butch's zest for life extended to the great outdoors, where he cherished spending time at the river lot with his family. These gatherings were filled with laughter, stories, and the creation of memories that his family will hold dear forever.
He is survived by a loving family who will continue to honor his legacy: his children, James D. Bower of Williamsport, Paul E. Bower and his wife Stella of South Williamsport, and Patricia A. Leidhecker and her husband Steve of Cogan Station. Butch was a cherished grandfather to eight grandchildren, who in turn blessed him with eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Kenny Bower and a daughter in law, Deborah Bower.
In honor of Butch's life, his family will gather in a private ceremony to share memories and celebrate the man who brought so much light into their lives.
