Scherry Pugh Duncan, 75, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2026, surrounded by loving family and friends. She was born on November 29, 1950, in Alexandria, Virginia, where she was also raised.
Bookkeeping had been her career for most of her adult life until she became disabled in 1994. Scherry had the privilege of traveling the country and finding her “home” in Powers, Oregon, where some of her greatest achievements were made. She took her love for crocheting and provided blankets for nursing homes and homebound individuals. Scherry loved plants and studied “companion gardening” from master gardeners. She used her knowledge to help assist her small community with food stability by obtaining land and growing a garden that everyone enjoyed and maintained together. In 2009 she moved to Nisbet, with her daughter and son-in-law due to health reasons. Scherry had a sweet, loving personality that made a positive imprint on anyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Scherry is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Kimberly Boyles along with her very loved and appreciated, like a son, son-in-law Douglas of Nisbet; three grandsons and 5 great-grandchildren. Due to her deep love of animals, the family would also like to mention that Scherry left behind one very spoiled and loved “Cleo Kitty”.
As per Scherry’s wishes, there will be no services.
