Patricia Ann Saar, 77, known affectionately as Pat, Patty or Trish to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at WellSpan York Hospital, York, PA. She was a beacon of kindness and friendliness, touching the lives of all who knew her with her gentle spirit and warm smile.

Born on November 22, 1946, in Williamsport she was a daughter of the late Francies and Alice Carey.

She graduated from Williamsport High School and worked with her husband, Donald as a co-owner of Rent All Center in Williamsport for 25 years.

 In her younger days, Pat discovered a passion for ceramics, a hobby through which she expressed her creativity and attention to detail. She was an avid reader, finding solace and adventure within the pages of countless books.

Pat's demeanor was the epitome of kindness and laid-back charm. She navigated life's challenges with a serene composure, always taking the time to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of those who provided care and support in her times of need. Her gratitude was a gift that she gave freely and often, and it made a lasting impact on her caregivers and friends.

Her affinity for animals was well-known, and she shared a bond with all creatures great and small, treating them with the same kindness she showed to everyone around her. Butterflies held a special place in her heart, and she could often be found admiring their delicate dance among everyday life.

Her love for animals was matched by the love she had for her friends. Pat cultivated friendships with ease, her friendly nature drawing people to her. She nurtured these relationships with the same tenderness she showed to the creatures she adored. She leaves behind a legacy of love and friendship that will continue to inspire and comfort those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Her memory will flutter softly in the hearts of many, like a butterfly gracing the world with its delicate presence.

Surviving are her children, Robert Saar (AnnaLisa) of Williamsport and Teresa Saar (Diana Shepley) of York; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Saar; four grandchildren, Myriah May (Joelan), Karyn Morse (Brian), Jacob Saar, and Kylie Saar; two great-grandchildren, Avari May and Colt Morse; a sister, Mary Jo Spiegel (Keith) of South Williamsport; and many beloved four-legged family members.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard A. Saar and brother, Lawrence “Larry” Carey.

A graveside service to honor Pat’s life will be held 1 p.m., Friday, September 20 at Green Lawn Memorial Park, 62 PA-54, Montgomery, PA 17752.
