Pastor Willie E. Anderson, was born on November 26, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and passed away peacefully at his home in Williamsport on Monday, June 29, 2026.
Willie lived a life marked by faith, devotion to family, and a deep love for the people around him. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy (Thomas) Anderson, and together they shared 49 years of marriage after being united on January 14, 1978. He was a father to his five sons, Anthony, William (Shakia), Gregory, Andre (Shannon), and James (Krissy), as well as his three daughters, Annette, Vonya, and Devonne (John), all whom he loved. He also leaves behind nine siblings, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, William Pigford, his mother, Gussie Anderson, and five siblings who welcomed him in eternal rest.
Willie received his education at Manna Bible College in Philadelphia and later earned a Master’s Degree in Human Services from Lincoln University. He was also a veteran, having proudly served his country in the United States Army.
In his professional life before retirement, Willie was as a mobile therapist for HOPE Enterprises, where he worked with dedication and care. Willie was also a faithful member of Freedom House CWC, where he worshiped, fellowshipped, and lived out his faith. He and his wife founded Love Unlimited Ministries with three others in 2001.
Those who knew Willie will remember him for his charming smile, his love for Bingo that he played at the Senior Center on Lynn Street, watching The Alamo, and spending time with his grandchildren. He also had a special appreciation for hot sauce, good food, especially peanut butter donuts, and he treasured holidays and family gatherings. These simple joys were among the many things that made him smile and helped define the warmth of his personality.
Willie E. Anderson will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, veteran, and man of faith. His legacy lives on in the family he loved, the lives he influenced, and the example he set through a life well lived.
