Maryann L. Stuempfle, 81, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at her home, after a courageous two and a half year battle with cancer.
Born on October 31, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Lamont and Dolores (Cheattle) Morgan. Maryann was a graduate of Williamsport High School and was retired from Sylvania-GTE. After retirement from Sylvania, Maryann continued working part-time at Catch-All Storage. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards, especially Phase Ten, with local senior citizens groups. She loved to travel and would visit family in Florida every winter. One of her favorite adventures was a two-week land and sea tour of Alaska. She was a member of the Polish Club, the Moose Club, and St. Joseph the Worker Parish.
Surviving are her son, Curtis Stuempfle (Jennifer); three grandchildren, Ethan, Madison, and Makenzie Stuempfle; two step-grandchildren, Jayde and Emilee Hinds, and one step great-granddaughter, Aria Lovell. She also leaves behind three nieces, Beth Hoben, Kathy, Dehn, and Rona Hammer, and many cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Along with her parents, Maryann was also preceded in death by her son, Steven Stuempfle; one brother, Thomas Morgan, and one nephew, Timothy Morgan.
A memorial service to honor the life of Maryann will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport. Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport. A visitation will be held prior from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.
