Mary E. Seewald, 89, a lifelong resident of Williamsport, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Williamsport North. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas D. Seewald in 1978.
Born September 1, 1934, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Elizabeth McMahon.
Mary attended Williamsport Area High School. She was employed at the former Bailey Controls and ABB, where she worked as an inspector for more than 30 years.
Mary attended the former Calvary United Methodist Church. She enjoyed watching little league baseball and her involvement in her childrenás and grandchildrenás lives was a testament to her unwavering support and love for her family.
Mary leaves behind a loving family, including her four sons, Thomas E. Seewald (Linda), Ricky A. Seewald, Mark T. Seewald, all of Williamsport, and Kevin L. Seewald of Loyalsock; five grandsons and two great-granddaughters.
In addition to her husband and mother, she was preceded in death by several siblings and a daughter- in-law Lisa Lepley.
A funeral service to honor the life of Mary will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 15, at Knight-Confer Funeral Home 1914 Memorial Avenue, Williamsport. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
