Linda Lee Woodling, 74, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 11, 2023.
Born February 8, 1949, she was a daughter of Charles E. and Martha J. (Wurster) Green of Montgomery.
As a child, she was the youngest member of the popular ‘Singing Green Family’ who - along with her mother, father, brother and sister – sang at numerous events in the area throughout the 1950s.
Linda attended Montgomery High School and moved to New York City. There, she was a bartender at several famous night clubs and befriended entertainers such as Gloria Gaynor. Later, she worked for nearly 35 years as a customer service representative for the Bulova Watch Company in Queens, NY. In 2012, she retired and moved back to Williamsport to be near her family and friends.
Surviving her is a son, Corbin Woodling, of Williamsport.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Neal Edward Green, a sister, Elva M. Frick, and former husband, Ronald E. Woodling.
Always gracious and giving, Linda had a contagious smile, quick sense of humor and affectionate personality. Her faith and family were her strength. Linda will be forever remembered by her son, best friend of over 50 years Nubia Garrido, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and other dear friends.
Her other interests were varied and included television shows about animals, The X-Files, The Match Game (especially episodes with Fannie Flagg), Marvel movies and tomato soup.
A brief funeral service to honor the life of Linda will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Avenue, Williamsport with Pastor Ron Savits officiating. Burial will follow at Woodward Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of service at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.
