Linda Jean Heitsenrether "Petey," 74, of Williamsport, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 31, 2025, at UPMC Williamsport Hospital.

Born on January 11, 1951, in Williamsport, PA, Linda was the daughter of the late Paul F. and Mary M. Peterson. She was a proud graduate of Canton Junior Senior High School and dedicated over 30 years of service to Liberty Mutual Insurance, retiring as an Underwriter Technician.

Linda will be remembered for her generosity, kindness, and deep love for her family, friends, and pets. She cherished every moment with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren and her grand-dog, Scuttle, who brought her endless joy. A true people person, she found happiness in daily conversations with friends, sharing warmth, laughter, and unwavering support. Her love for cooking and baking—especially her famous Christmas fudge—brought comfort and joy to many.

She and her husband, John “Jack” T. Heitsenrether, recently celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on December 14, 2024. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Jodie L. Vitale, and her husband, Daniel J. Vitale; her son, John P. Heitsenrether; and her beloved grandchildren, Maya C. Vitale and Owen D. Vitale.

Linda’s kindness, love, and selflessness leave a lasting legacy. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 6th, at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport, followed by a ceremony at 11:00 AM officiated by Rev. Mark D. Brumbach.  A private burial will be held at a later date with family and close friends.
