Lenore Grace (Saiers) Burkholder

     Lenore Grace Burkholder, 88, of Linden, passed peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020, at Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William C. McLaughlin, and her second husband of 45 years, Lawrence H. "Burky" Burkholder Jr., on June 5, 2015.
 

     Born Oct. 20, 1931, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Muriel B. (Guinter) Saiers.
 

     Lenore was a 1949 graduate of Williamsport High School, grew up on the family farm and was a member of Maple Springs United Methodist Church. She worked for Sybil Mills, Lycoming Shoe Company, the former Cobbler's Ladies Shoe Outlet, GTE Sylvania, and later retired as a supervisor from Glamorise Foundations Inc. She enjoyed quilting and made many for family members, ceramics, especially Christmas houses, and loved hosting family get-togethers.
 

     Surviving are two sons, Charles W. McLaughlin (Mary), of Linden, and Terry A. McLaughlin (Dawn), of Virginia Beach, Va.; four daughters, Vonnie L. Beamer, of Lock Haven, Linda A. Hanna (Mark), of Berwick, Patricia M. Plants (Larry), of Trout Run, and Darlene K. Phillips (Garry), of Linden; 19 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Gladys Leidhecker, of Linden; and a stepson, Joseph M. Burkholder (Rita), of Douglas, Wyo.
 

     In addition to her husbands and parents she was preceded in death by two stepsons, John and Thomas Burkholder.
 

     A funeral service to honor the life of Lenore will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.
 

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lenore's name to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, Wilkes-Barre Office, 57 N. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.
