June A. Dahlgren, 98, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at the Williamsport Home. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years, Frederick A. "Fred" Dahlgren on February 18, 2017.
Born July 11, 1925, in South Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Frederick John and Anna Amanda (Auchmuty) Tietbohl.
June was a graduate of South Williamsport Area High School. During her high school years, she helped at the family restaurant, Day and Night. After marrying at the young age of 19, she chose to dedicate her life to her family, becoming a homemaker and creating a warm and welcoming environment for all who entered her home.
June was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where her faith was an important part of her life. She was also known for her love of crafting, particularly crocheting, creating beautiful pieces that were treasured by those who received them. She was an avid reader, reading any book she could get her hands on and a fabulous cook, whose meals were the highlight of many family gatherings. She also was a former Meals on Wheels, volunteer. June’s legacy is one of kindness, wit, appreciation, love, and resilience and most of all she enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by her two sons, Fritz A. Dahlgren of Connecticut and Kim E. Dahlgren (Elizabeth) of Williamsport. She was also a cherished grandmother to Roxanne Gross (Matthew) of Colorado, and great-grandmother to Bode, Reese, and Emma Gross.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Frederick John Tietbohl II and five sisters, Viola Chamberlain, Ruth Blumberg, Mae Guinter, Pauline Dangle, and Cleo Michaels.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
