John truly is going to enjoy Heaven, because he loved living on earth. 

John A. Troisi, 91, died Wednesday, December 10, 2025.   He was born in Williamsport on July 1, 1934 and was the eighth child of the late Domenic and Bernardine (Beiter) Troisi.

He and his wife, the former Patricia A. “Patsy” (Delycure) Troisi would have observed their (67th wedding anniversary on August 16th).

A graduate of the former St. Mary’s High School.  For 40 years, he was in partnership with his father Domenic M. and brother Robert L., in Troisi Menswear.  In 1986 he became the sole owner of the business which he closed in 1991.  The last 17 years of his employment, was enjoyable spent at Beiter’s Home Center.

Mr. Troisi was a lifelong member of St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church, and in 1972, was elected the first Chairman of the Parish Council.  He served as general chairman of the third St. Boniface Church building committee.  He was very active in his church, having served for many years as Commentator and Usher.  Also, he was certified C.C.D. teacher where he taught the sixth grade for 16 years.  He was a 4th.  Degree Knight of Columbus from 1958 until the time of his death.  He was an eight-year United States Navy veteran, having served on active duty from 1955 through 1957.

Very active in community affairs, Mr. Troisi was a member of the Williamsport Lycoming Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee from 1986 thru 1991.  He was a member of the Williamsport/Lycoming Foundation Advisory Board from its inception.  He served for twenty years, under four Mayors on the Williamsport Parking Authority from 1976 through 1995, and served as Vice Chairman for fourteen of those years.  Also, he was a member of the Williamsport Area Community College Business Advisory Board from 1977 through 1985.  Mr. Troisi, was a member of Williamsport Community Concert Association board from 1985 through 1991, and served as a member of the Board of Governors of the Lycoming County Historical Society from 2006 thru 2010.  He took great pride in his membership in the Kiwanis Club of Williamsport where he was a member from 1973 until his death.  In 1992, he was named “Kiwanian of the Year”. He was a volunteer for the Williamsport/Lycoming United Way, having served many times as a loaned executive.

Mr. Troisi was a lifetime Dodger Fan, who loved his beloved “Bums” and reveled in their accomplishments.  He was an active Little League Baseball volunteer who in 1995 was recipient of the W. Howard Hartman, Little League Friendship Award.  He was a member of the Board of the Williamsport Tennis Club since 1954 until the time of his death and served as President from 1976 thru 1995.  In the year 2000, he was the recipient of the club’s, Brooks E. Reese Sr., Distinguished Service Award.

John loved a good joke and was known to have told a few of his many, “True Stories” to friends and acquaintances.  He really enjoyed doing it.  One his greatest pleasure and satisfaction came from his love for Pasty, his wife, their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many cousins.  He loved them all and took great pride in all their accomplishments.

For nearly 50 years, he devoted much of his spare time to his avocation-that of Freelance Landscape Photography.  He sold stock images throughout the world and produced multimedia travelogues which gained artistic acclaim.

Surviving are a brother James L. Troisi; sister, Helen Arney; daughter, Joi Ann Grande of New Castle, PA, and a son Jeffrey A. Troisi of Harrisburg, PA.  There are also three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Bernadine Hamm, Ann Marie McLain-Snyder, Marguerite Carapellucci, Mary E. Troisi and brothers, Robert L. Troisi, B. Joseph Troisi and D. Paul Troisi and a grandson, Hanz Ostermier.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday December 17th at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 324 Washington Blvd., Williamsport. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery.There will be a viewing Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Avenue, Williamsport.
