Jennifer Leann "Jen" Hammond

Jennifer Leann “Jen” Hammond, 53, of Williamsport, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2019 at her mother’s home.

Born June 10, 1966 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of Betty A. (Sheets) and the late John K. Hammond who preceded her in death on September 5, 2019.

Jen was a 1984 graduate of South Williamsport High School, a 1988 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania and received her Master’s in Education from Penn State University in 1997. She was currently employed at Pennsylvania College of Technology as director of tutoring services. Jen was a trainer of the suicide prevention committee, and a part of the college governance committee. She was very active in her role at the school and earned the distinguished staff award in 2006. 

Jen was a member of St. John’s-Newberry United Methodist Church, a book club, loved the beach, and especially loved live music. She was an avid James Taylor fan. Family and friends were her greatest source of happiness.

Surviving in addition to her mother are, a brother John M. Hammond (Carol) of Williamsport, five nephews, William Hammond (Carrie), C.J. Hannon (Cara), Michael Hammond (Ashley), David Hammond (Jenn), Robert Hammond, and 16 great-nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to honor the life of Jen will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 1 at St. John’s-Newberry United Methodist Church, 2101 Newberry St, Williamsport. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at St. John’s- Newberry.
