Jeanette A. (Dixon) Harrison

Jeanette A. Harrison,72, a beacon of love and laughter, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at UPMC Williamsport.

Born on December 24, 1952, in Greenville, NC, she was a daughter of the late James and Novella (Collina) Dixon.

Jeanette's professional life was characterized by her role as a foster parent, a calling that allowed her to extend her maternal love to many children in need. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and care, and she touched the lives of many through her selfless service.

A faithful member of the Freedom International Worship Center, Ebenezer Baptist Church, and Unity Christian Fellowship, all in Williamsport, Jeanette's faith was a source of strength and comfort to her and those around her. Her involvement in the church was just one of the many ways she connected with her community.

Her interests were as varied as they were vibrant. Jeanette had a passion for shopping, which was matched only by her love for playing Phase 10 with her friends. She was also an accomplished seamstress, a talent that complemented her love for creating and interior design. Her eye for beauty was evident in her decorating, cooking, hospitality, and flower arranging. Each activity she undertook was an expression of her creativity and her desire to bring joy to others.

Surviving is her husband, Allen Harrison; four children, Monette E. Newsuan (Lawrence), Michelle Dixon (Sherman Brooks), Darrick Washington (Yolanda), and Jeanetta Y. Gray (Jovan), as well as her stepchildren, Jamell Joyner (Monique), Allen Harrison, Jr., Kenneth Harrison, and Syreeta Harrison;22 grandchildren, Larissa, Liberty, Larry Jr., Deandre, Devante, Donte, Danyse, Landon, Malik, Camren, Brian, Leyah, Judah, Joshua, Jovan Jr., Journee, Christian, Rhyan, Chandler, Aubrey, Zoey, and Nuri; ten great-grandchildren; a sister Joyce Dixon of New York; her beloved nieces Leslie, Theresa, Crystal, Joyce, Yvonne, Francine; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Sadie, Bonnie Carroll, Geraldine, and Yvonne, and a brother, Slevendar.

A funeral service to honor the life of Jeanette will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 2 at Ebenezer Baptist Church 527 Park Ave, Williamsport. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church.
