Jacob J. "Jake" Helm, Sr.

Jacob J. "Jake" Helm, Sr., 52, of Williamsport, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 2, 2024 at UPMC Williamsport. 

Born November 15, 1971, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Fred K. and Karen M. (Frey) Helm. 

After graduating from Williamsport Area High School in 1990, Jake dedicated his career to the textile industry, working as a skilled braid machine mechanic for Lending Textiles and later for Phoenix Trim. 

Jake's love for the great outdoors was evident to all who knew him. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and farmer.

Family was the cornerstone of Jake's life. He is survived by his four devoted children, Catrina L. Helm, Desiree M. Helm, Jacob J. Helm, Jr., and Joshua L. Helm, all of Williamsport; five grandchildren, Xavier Helm, Logan Bennett, Bryson Bennett, Jackson Helm, and Jordan Helm, who brought immense joy and laughter to his days; an uncle, Keith Helm (Rebecca); and three cousins Justin Helm, Dallas Helm, and Teranie Schell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Clela Jean Helm and an uncle, Rick Helm.

A funeral service to honor the life of Jake will be held 7 p.m. Saturday, September 7 at Knight-Confer Funeral Home 1914 Memorial Avenue, Williamsport. A viewing will be held from 6 p.m. until time of service at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.
