Jack A. Burkhart, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on November 7, 2025, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Born on September 2, 1937, in Reading, Pennsylvania, Jack's journey through life was marked by an unwavering dedication to his family, his work, and his faith.
Jack's early years in Reading shaped the man he would become. After graduating from Reading High School, he embarked on a career that demonstrated his strong work ethic and commitment to serving others. He retired as the Human Resources Manager from Tampella Power (formerly E. Keeler Co.) in 2000, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and compassion. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to become the co-owner and CEO of RF Communications in Matthews, North Carolina, where for a decade, he guided the company with integrity and vision.
Jack's life was a testament to the values of love, kindness, and thoughtfulness. He shared 45 wonderful years with his loving wife, Lisa Burkhart, creating a home filled with laughter, support, and mutual respect. Jack is survived by daughter, Cynthia Heminitz (George); daughter Deborah Randis; daughter Elizabeth Sakmar (Phil); son Jack Burkhart Jr. (Delia); daughter Melissa Zimmerman (Robert), daughter-in-law Belinda Burkhart, and sister Linda Merkey (Jim), each of whom inherited his spirit of generosity and strength of character. Jack was a guiding light to his five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, whose achievements and happiness were a source of immense pride for him.
Though he was preceded in death by his father, John Burkhart; mother, May Kaufmann Burkhart; son, James Burkhart; son-in-law, Tom Randis; Jack's legacy lives on through the love and memories he left behind.
A devout Christian, Jack was a dedicated member of Christ Covenant Church in Matthews, North Carolina. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, providing him with comfort and guidance through all of life's seasons.
Jack's presence was a gift to those who knew him. He touched many lives with his unwavering kindness and thoughtful gestures. Even in his final days, he maintained a sense of humor and a positive outlook that inspired all around him.
A graveside service to honor Jack’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 15th at Green Lawn Memorial Park,62 PA-54 Montgomery, PA 17752.
As we say farewell to Jack, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with purpose, joy, and an abundance of love. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of his family and friends. Jack's journey on earth has ended, but his story will be told for generations to come, a beautiful legacy of a life marked by love and service.
