Harold Dorvin Overdorf, 84, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at his home in Muncy.
Born on January 12, 1941, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Jack M. and Idabelle C. (Hipple) Overdorf.
Harold attended Williamsport Area High School and received an Associates in Metallurgy and Welding Fabrication. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for 22 years, where he was a member of the esteemed Seabees and rose to the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. His dedication to his craft continued into civilian life, where he shared his expertise as a Welding Teacher at Triangle Technical School in Sunbury.
A retired boiler maker by trade, Harold's skills were not only a testament to his professional life but also to his personal one. He was a man who could fix anything, and his hands were rarely still. His love for his work was only surpassed by the love he had for his family. Harold's heart was heavy with the recent passing of his beloved wife of 37 years, Elizabeth Pauline Overdorf, on April 22, 2025. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and an unbreakable bond that death could not sever. Harold was a 32nd degree Masonic Mason and his involvement with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was a reflection of his deep faith and commitment to his community.
Harold’s adventurous side shone through with his enjoyment of motorcycle riding and RV camping. His knack for athleticism earned him a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Karate and participating in Little League Baseball.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory four children, Clifford B. Overdorf, Michael Harold Overdorf, Sheila Deneen Hunter, and Ricky Allen Overdorf, as well as his brother, John Madison Overdorf.
A graveside service to honor Harold will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 10 a.m., at Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport.
