Harold L. Biichle,99, formerly of Duboistown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at the Williamsport Home. Surviving is his loving and devoted wife of 76 years, M. Gloria (Mathias) Biichle.
Born on April 15, 1925, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Elmer E. and Vinnie M. (Sholder) Biichle.
Harold attended the Williamsport Area School District. He served his country proudly during World War II in the Navy, where he was stationed on the USS San Jacinto in the Pacific. After his honorable military service, Harold returned to Williamsport, where he established himself as a respected plumber. He retired in 1987 from the Local 570 Plumbers and Steamfitters union. Following retirement Harold continued to work as a landscaper at Hidden Valley Campground.
Harold was a member of Duboistown United Methodist Church, where he served in various church offices, demonstrating his commitment to faith and community.
An avid outdoorsman, Harold found pleasure in fishing. His green thumb was evident in his love for gardening, a hobby that beautified his surroundings. Harold's love for family activities was unparalleled, as he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. His active participation in church and his enjoyment of games at the Williamsport Home were hallmarks of his friendly and sociable nature.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Debra A. Nenninger (Barry) of Avon Park, FL, and Donna Jean Gondek (Larry) of Williamsport; six grandchildren Derek Willits (Kristen) of NC, Darla Willits of Williamsport, Dianne Willits of Williamsport; Jess Gondek (Raechel) of AK, Adam Gondek (Anastasia) of NY; and Elizabeth Gondek of NY; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Gail Leidhecker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Howard L. Biichle, Sr. and his sister, Doris M. Ranck.
A funeral service to honor the life of Harold will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 18 at Knight-Confer Funeral Home 1914 Memorial Avenue, Williamsport. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy with full military honors. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.
