Fred K. Helm

Fred K. Helm, 74, of Williamsport, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024 at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Karen M. (Frey) Helm on April 15, 1997.

Born June 12, 1949 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Gordon K. and Dorothy M. (Eck) Helm. 

Fred was a graduate of the Williamsport Area High School and attended Welding School. Following graduation, he was an exceptionally talented self-employed welder for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed farming and hunting. 

Surviving are a son Jacob J. Helm of Williamsport; four grandchildren Catrina, Desiree, Jacob Jr., and Joshua Helm; five great-grandchildren; and a brother Keith Helm (Rebecca) of Williamsport. 

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Clela Jean Helm and a brother Rick Helm. 

A funeral service to honor the life of Fred will be held 7 p.m. Friday, April 5 at Knight-Confer Funeral Home 1914 Memorial Avenue, Williamsport. A viewing will be held from 5 p.m. until time of service at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.
