Enola L. Corter, 92, of Williamsport, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Williamsport Home. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, LaRue H. Corter in 2012.
Born September 22, 1927 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Nevin and Bertha (Jacoby) Bitner.
Enola was 1945 graduate of Williamsport High School. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she was an usher and a greeter. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life like reading, playing bingo with her husband, going for walks, and watching the deer cross the road in front of her house.
Surviving are a son, David Corter of Cogan Station; three grandchildren, Shawn, Travis, and Jason (Sara Dalton) Corter; and four great-grandchildren, Luna, Nova, Milla, and Mallory.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Enola was preceded in death by a son, James Corter, a brother, Clymer Bitner, and a sister Eleanor Worthington.
A funeral service to honor the life of Enola will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 5 at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Avenue, Williamsport, with her pastor, Rev. David Byerly and Rev. David Hart, officiating. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday.
