Emily Nutt Crockett

Emily Nutt Crockett, 101, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at The Williamsport Home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Allen H. Crockett, Jr.

Born July 30, 1923, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Dr. John B. Nutt and Catharine (Stearns) Nutt.

Emily was a graduate of the Williamsport High School, she attended one year at the former Dickinson Seminary, and later received a certificate in occupational therapy from Philadelphia School of Occupational Therapy. She was employed at Stella Maris Nursing Home in Maryland and later retired as the activities director after 20 years. Following her retirement she volunteered at Stella Maris and enjoyed spending time at the family cabin on the Loyalsock Creek, for 45 years.

Surviving are two sons John N. Crockett (Andrea) of Washington, PA and William Crockett of Williamsport; a daughter Catharine C. Curran (Michael) of Parkville, MD; a grandson John Allen Binkelman (Bridget); and a great-granddaughter, Willa.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Allen H. Crockett III and two sisters Catharine Nutt Weist and Abby Nutt Cipolla.

A celebration of Emily’s life will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 10 at the Wildwood Cemetery Chapel. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Emily’s name to a charity of donor’s choice.
