Edward Snook Obituary

Edward Paul Snook, of Antes Fort, passed peacefully into heaven on Thursday, June 6, 2019.

Born Dec. 8, 1942, in Loganton, he was a son of the late Woodrow and Maude (Washburn) Snook. He was one of 13 children.

Anyone who knew Ed learned quickly that he loved farming and all things International Harvester. He began farming when he was 15 years old on the family farm in Sugar Valley, then farmed for Doebler's near Pine Creek. He operated O.K. Hog Farm in Antes Fort and crop farmed in the Nippenose Valley. For many years, Ed volunteered at the Lycoming and Clinton County fairs, and he organized the Fort Antes Historical Days. Ed also managed the Jersey Shore farm and flea market with his wife, Gerrie. Ed was a member of the Antes Fort United Methodist Church, and he enjoyed fellowshipping with his church friends as well as all other people he met in his life's journey.

Ed is survived by his wife, Geraldine Rice Stout Snook of 16 years; daughters, Corinne Paulhamus (Martin), of Linden, and Kathy Martin (Randy), of Lebanon; grandchildren, Amanda Paulhamus (Greg Steppe), of Williamsport, and Andrew Paulhamus, of North Carolina; step-children, Michele Schreck, John Brock, Jenny Lafty, Bill Stout and MaryAnn Lanks; and numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Kenneth, John, Bill and Joe, a sister, Lois McGarvey, and a sister-in-law, Iolene Snook.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his infant son, Nicholas Paul, his siblings, Virginia, Lewis, Tommy, Elaine and Lucy, and step-daughters, Suzan and Sheran.

A funeral service to honor the life of Ed will be held noon Saturday, June 15, at Antes Fort United Methodist Church,  19 E. Fourth St., Antes Fort, with Pastor Max W. Furman officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at Antes Fort United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ed's name to the International Harvester Collectors Chapter 17 c/o Shirley Bordner, 142 Scheetz Lane, Danville, PA 17821.
