Dortha A. Stoppa

Dortha A. Stoppa, 104, of Williamsport, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Valley View Rehab and Nursing Center. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, John M. Stoppa on January 12, 2016.

Born September 16, 1921, in Liberty, she was a daughter of the late Miles and Evelyn (Sechrist) Bastian.

Dortha was a graduate of Liberty High School. She enjoyed taking care of her family and cooking.

Surviving are a son, Michael R. (Joan) Stoppa, of North Venice, Fla.; two grandchildren, Mark T. (Desiree) Stoppa, of Tampa, Fla., and Scott M. (Allison) Stoppa, of Long Beach, N.Y.; and three great-grandchildren, Alexander J., Mason G., and Ella M. Stoppa.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marsha K. Stoppa and two sisters, Irma Persun and Audrey Constock.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Wildwood Cemetery.
