Donald C. "Don" Edler, 86, of Williamsport passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at the Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital. Surviving is his loving and devoted wife of 69 years, Virgina "Ginny" (Crawley) Edler.
Born December 22, 1937, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Kenneth and Johanna (Weiss) Edler.
Don attended the Williamsport Area School District. He retired from Darling Valve and owned his own business, D & W Disposal until his full retirement.
Don was a member of the Republican League of Newberry, Leroy O. Buck Post #7863, Duboistown, and an honorary member of the Poor Shot Hunting Club. He enjoyed playing cards with fellow members, watching his grandchildren and all of their activities. In his younger years he was a professional motorcycle racer, loved playing golf at White Deer Golf Course and the Williamsport Country Club invitational tournament with his sons. He loved going to Las Vegas and at one time the family had season tickets to the Pittsburgh Steelers games. Here we go Steelers! Don lived a long full life filled with a lot of memories and loved his family and friends.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter Lynn Edler (Mike); two sons Rick Edler (Heidi) and Randy Edler all of Williamsport; six grandchildren Shannon Collins Butters (Joe), Lisa Collins Winter (Tim), Brandy Collins Bloom (Keith), Nathan Edler (Danielle), Amy Edler Haight (Brian) and Erick Edler (Julia); 14 great-grandchildren; a sister Donna Sayah; and a brother Dennis Edler.
A celebration of Don’s life will be announced at a later date.
