Diane M. Metz

     Diane M. Metz, 67, of Linden went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, August 24, 2019.

     Born April 4, 1952 in Williamsport, she is a daughter of Kathryn E. (Wertman) Metz of Linden and the late Carl K. Metz.

     Diane was a graduate of Williamsport High School and Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia earning a Bachelor's degree in education. She taught elementary students in local Christian schools, including 18 years as a teacher and principal at Memorial Baptist Christian School in Newberry.

     Diane attended Buchanan Baptist Church. She enjoyed arranging flowers, gardening and being an aunt to her beloved nieces. Diane truly loved being around the children in her own family and those in her classroom, as a child's curiosity and excitement brought much joy to her days. She was eager to hear updates and keep in touch with former students’ even decades after they left her classroom.

      Surviving in addition to her mother are; a brother, Richard Metz (Karen) of Williamsport; two nieces, Kara Williams (Garret) of Williamsport and Kelsey Swift (Davis) of Trout Run; two great nephews, Gavin and Levi; a great niece, Evienna; and many dear friends.

     A memorial service to honor the life of Diane will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 28 at Buchanan Baptist Church, 3240 Grimesville Road Williamsport. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at church. Burial will be held privately in Wildwood Cemetery.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Diane's name to Camp Susque, 47 Susque Camp Rd. Trout Run, PA 17771.
