Charlotte Clemons Obituary

Charlotte M. Clemons, 89, of Williamsport, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital. Surviving is her husband of 69 years, William A. Clemons Jr.

Born July 24, 1935, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Ellsworth and Grace (Sarvey) Vollmer.

Charlotte took pride in being a homemaker. Her home was a haven of comfort and joy, where she raised her children with love and instilled in them the values of kindness and respect. Charlotte was a long-standing member of the Heshbon Park United Methodist Church. Her involvement with the Eastern Star Felicitas Chapter 500 further showcased her dedication to charitable work and fellowship.

Surviving in addition to her husband are her three children, W. Russell "Russ" Clemons (Michelle) of Williamsport, Steven M. Clemons (Kelly) of State College, and Cathy A. Peacock (Theron) of Fredericksburg, VA; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Ann Clemons; two brothers, Ellsworth Vollmer Jr. and Donald Vollmer; and a sister, Helen Fourney.

A memorial service to honor the life of Charlotte will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 4, at Heshbon Park United Methodist Church 2898 Heshbon Rd., Williamsport with the Rev. Jane O’Borski officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 3, at Knight-Confer Funeral Home 1914 Memorial Avenue, Williamsport.
