Charles Wayne Martin Sr., 84, of Williamsport, died April 8, 2020, at his home. Surviving is his loving wife of 63 years, Rose Marie (Borrosco) Martin.

Born Oct. 11, 1935 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Gustave and Dorothy Love (Leitzell) Martin.

Charles was a 1953 graduate of Williamsport Area High School. Following graduation Charles proudly served his country in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany with the Second Armored Division. Charles later retired from the former Bell Atlantic, now Verizon, after more than 38 years of employment.

His greatest joy in life was his three sons and their families and his greatest disappointment was that his parents never lived long enough to see their grandsons and great-grandchildren graduate from college. His hobby later in life was researching his family's genealogy.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Charles Wayne Martin Jr. (Mary Cahill) of Williamsport, Stephen Anthony Martin (Debra Ludwig) of Cogan Station, and Dr. Scott David Martin (Erin DiSalvo) of Williamsport; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and a brother, David Eugene Martin of Williamsport.

A private funeral service to honor the life of Charles will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be held in Wildwood Cemetery. A life celebration will be announced at a later date.
