Carol B. Leathers, 87, of Hughesville, and formerly of Williamsport, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024 at the Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital surrounded by her family. Surviving is her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, James E. "Jim" Leathers.

Born October 5, 1937, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of her beloved late mother, Nina M. (Love) Bovee.

Carol graduated from the Williamsport Area High School in 1955. Carol loved to shop and filled many days finding bargains and stocking up on thoughtful gifts for her very special family and friends. She was the world’s best peanut butter and coconut cream egg maker, and made a special chocolate cherry cake that would melt in your mouth. She was a domino champion and could whip up delectable creamed de mint parfaits, Carol loved trips with her husband to Myrtle Beach where she would sunbathe and perfect her beautiful tan.

Carol loved Jesus and was a very devoted Christian. She was a member of the Oak Grove Alliance Church for 20 years and helped many young children find God as a teacher at their Vacation Bible School. More than anything, though, Carol adored her family. Her two sons, Jamie and Todd, filled her life with so much joy and pride. She loved being their Mom. Carol’s love reached unprecedented depths with the addition of each of her four grandchildren, Lauren, Tyler, Gabriel and Maya. They were the light of her life. Then, just when Carol thought her heart couldn’t get any bigger, she was blessed with her three great grandchildren, Lina, Finn and Milo. Together, she and her family made many cherished memories. Carol was the kindest, most loving and loyal person you could ever know. Her loss leaves a profound hole in the hearts of her family and friends.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, James P. Leathers (Christie) of Williamsport and Todd W. Leathers (Jill McGuinn) of West Chester; four grandchildren, Lauren L. Henry (Sean) of Hughesville, Tyler J. Leathers (Taylor) of Williamsport, Gabriel E. Leathers of West Chester, and Maya E. Leathers of Charleston, SC; three great-grandchildren, Lina, Finn, and Milo Henry. Her extended family included her caring nieces and nephews, Don Leathers (Deb), Dan Leathers (Pam), Dee Gannon (Bob), and many others who will remember her fondly. Carol's companionship extended to her adored cat, Huey, who was a source of comfort and joy in her life.

Carol’s family would like to thank the amazing staff, and especially her good friend Amanda, at Wolf Run Village for the love they showed her these last few years. They’d also like to thank the incredible staff at the Gatehouse for the compassion and care they provided Carol and her family during such a difficult time.
