Betty J. Duke, 75, of Linden, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport. Surviving is her loving husband of 52 years, Eugene H. “Gene” Duke.
Born July 13, 1944, in Linden, she was a daughter of the late Harold A. and Effie Margaret (Confair) Lockcuff.
Betty was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School and retired from Hermance Machine Company after many years as the office manager. She was a member of the Keystone Cruisers car club where she served as secretary. Betty and her husband enjoyed rebuilding cars, going for drives, and riding motorcycles. She was an avid gardener, loved reading and collecting books, and adored her cat Toby.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Lockcuff and a sister, Marie Allen.
A public viewing will be held 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9 at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave. Williamsport. We ask that you please wear a face covering and remain in your car upon arrival for the visitation until a funeral attendant escorts you into the building as we comply with COVID-19 regulations which limit the number of people inside one place for a public gathering.
Following the viewing, we invite all those with a Classic Car or any car to join in the procession as we cruise to Buchanan Cemetery for a graveside service to honor the life of Betty. If you are traveling with us in procession please arrive to Knight-Confer Funeral Home by 10:50 a.m.
