Anzhelika V. Karpenter, 54, passed away suddenly on June 1, 2020, after a brief illness.
Anzhelika, who preferred her diminutive Anzhela, was born in 1965 in Vitebsk, Belarus, then part of the USSR. Life in a military family took her to such places as Ukraine, the Urals, Moscow, and the Arctic Circle, to the port city of Murmansk. In 2004, she married Aaron R. Carpenter, in Moscow, and in 2015 they settled in their home in Pleasant Gap, Pa.
Inquisitive and creative, she earned a college degree in psychology, loved to travel and cook, and excelled at knitting, gardening, and many other arts.
Anzhela is survived by her husband, mother Vera, brother Pavel, daughter Natali, and granddaughters Varvara and Vasilisa.
A celebration of Anzhela's life will be announced at a later date. Anyone wishing to honor her memory is requested to make a donation to Rotary International.
