Amelia Moyer Obituary

Amelia H. Moyer, 90, of Williamsport, passed away on Thursday May 9, 2024, at Rose View Center. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, George S. Moyer on December 6, 2013.

Born on July 20, 1933, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Edith M. (Moon) Schodt

Amelia was a graduate of Canton High School. She retired from the former Bailey Controls, after 22 years of dedicated service as a lead person.

Amelia was a faithful member of the Garden View Church of Christ. She had a talent for crocheting, creating beautiful pieces that were both a comfort and a joy to those who received them. Her handmade Christmas peanut brittle was a much-anticipated treat, eagerly awaited by family and friends each holiday season.

Surviving are her three devoted daughters, Barbara Stroud (Lenny) of Avis, Sharon Grassmyer (Lee) of Cogan Station, and Amy Hammaker (Tim Kriner) of Williamsport; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Harry Schodt of Trout Run.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Lenny; a brother Roland Schodt; and three sisters, Beverly Holdren, Anna Mae Kissel, and Shirley Litzelman.

A memorial service to honor the life of Amelia will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25 at Christian Church at Cogan Station 5904 Lycoming Creek Rd, Cogan Station with Pastor Jeff Steppe officiating. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service at Christian Church at Cogan Station.
