William Sitler Obituary

    William E. “Bill” Sitler, 82, of Nisbet, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Susque View Home Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Barbara A. (Shook) Sitler on July 15, 2010.

    Born June 12, 1935, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Harvey and Ellen (Livermore) Sitler.

    Bill retired from Williamsport Wire Rope and was a member of Nisbet United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing and restoring cars. Most of all Bill loved and cherished being a husband, father, and grandfather.

    Surviving are his three daughters, Tami A. Bergman (Robert), of Williamsport, Suzanne K. Manuel (John), of Pine Creek, and Diana L. Worth (Richard Walters), of Williamsport, seven grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and beloved friends, Terry (Deb) Decker, of Nisbet.

    In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Sitler and two sisters, Donna Shaffer and Alice Wingo.

    A funeral service to honor the life of William will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Avenue, Williamsport with the Rev. R. Bruce Wallace  and the Rev. Dr. John F. Piper co-officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday and 10:30 a.m. until time of service Friday at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.

    In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Bill’s name to the SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701, www.lycomingcountyspca.org or the Nisbet United Methodist Church, 155 West Village Drive, South Williamsport, PA 17702.
