Vonda V. Roles, 91, of Cogan Station, died Thursday, April 26, 2018, surrounded by family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Carl E. Roles; a brother, Donald Snyder; and a sister, Bessie Snyder
Born July 5, 1926, in Cogan Station, she was a daughter of the late Maurice and Viola (Shaffer) Snyder.
Vonda was an active member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, Quiggleville and the Evangelical Lutheran Church Women. Vonda was known for her creative ability in floral arranging, sewing, quilt making and crafting. She enjoyed playing board games and putting together puzzles. Vonda and her husband, Carl loved traveling and going out dancing. Nothing pleased Vonda more than spending time with her family and will be deeply missed for her famous pie baking.
Surviving are her three daughters, Carla M. Mitcheltree, of Linden, Jill L. Moyer (Rusty), and Vicky A. Livermore (John), both of Cogan Station; nine grandchildren, Craig, Kevin, and Heather Mitcheltree, Heidi Mackey (Sean), Nathan Williams (Stephanie McLaughlin), Mindy Archuleta (Sam), Ty Moyer, Justin Livermore, and Marcia Lippassaar (Erik); eight great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service to honor the life of Vonda will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 1 at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, 1877 St. Michael’s Road, Cogan Station, with the Rev. David Byerly officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.
