Violet A. "Sis" Hrinya, 91, of South Williamsport, passed away, Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, at the Williamsport Home surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Thomas M. "Tommy" Hrinya.
Born May 21, 1927, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late LeRoy C. and Flossie A. (Fullmer) Williamson.
Violet was a graduate of Williamsport High School and was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.
Violet and her husband, Tommy, were members of the former Antler’s Club where they loved to go dancing, especially to 40’s music. She was talented at different crafts and was an excellent seamstress. Violet had a green thumb and enjoyed tending to her flower garden. She also loved animals and with her nurturing personality would raise baby animals and nurse them back to health. Most of all Violet cherished her family and was very proud of her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are three children, Barbara A. Hrinya, of Williamsport, Dennis M. Hrinya, of Cogan Station, and Leslie A. Scarborough (Terry), of Galway, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Emily A. Scarborough, of Seattle, Wash., and Thomas J. Scarborough, of Indianapolis, Ind.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Williamson.
A funeral service to honor the life of Violet will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3 at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport with the Rev. Brian F. VanFossen officiating. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery.
