Welcome to the memorial page for

Stephen M. Daniels

June 17, 1953 ~ August 5, 2017 (age 64) 64 Years Old

Stephen "Mike" Daniels, 64, of Trout Run, passed away, Saturday, August 5, 2017, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Surviving him is his wife, Melissa A. (Higgins) Daniels. They would have celebrated 19 years of marriage on August 15.

Born June 17, 1953, in Long Beach, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Hugh J. Daniels and Ruby E. (Woodcock) Daniels, of Long Beach, Mississippi.

Mike was a proud Veteran and served in the U.S. Air Force as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War, retiring, later, as a self-employed carpenter.

He spent most of his time fishing whenever possible. When he wasn't fishing he was cooking or grilling up something in "his" kitchen. Anyone who knew Mike, knew his cooking and grilling.

He couldn't wait for the first day of Trout season, to make his famous Gumbo and share. He enjoyed gardening, canning, reading, watching NASCAR and his Steelers. He also loved playing "Santa" for his granddaughters.

Mike would always try to help people, and always say it was his "extra insurance to get up stairs", which we are sure it has "paid off" in full.

Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother are his son, Shaun M. Miner; and his three daughters, Stephanie M. Miner, Jennifer J. Beamer (Jamie), and Amber M. Daniels (Lepley); his six grandchildren, Zachary, Emily, Cheyenne, Kaelynn, Gabrielle, and Melanie; his brother, Gary Daniels (Debra), of Georgia; and three sisters, Sandra Stevenson (Maurice), of Mississippi, Brenda Wagner (Tracey), of Alabama, and Kimberly Sylvia (P.J.), of Mississippi.

In keeping with his wishes, a Celebration of Life Event is being planned and will be held at a later date by his wife and daughters for family and friends.
