Rosemarie Willis Obituary

Rosemarie Willis, 78, of Williamsport went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019, at the Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Ronald Lee Willis Sr.

Born Sept. 9, 1940, in Dunmore, she was a daughter of the late Hubert and Marie (McCarthy) Derrig.

Rosemarie worked as a telephone operator until she became a mother and truly loved raising her children and taking care of her home. She attended St. Boniface Catholic Church and was a member of a bible study group with the ladies on Almost Street who also enjoyed playing bingo and pokeno together. Rosemarie can be remembered for her love of pies, beautiful quilts, watching Netflix, and was good at texting, messaging, and playing Words With Friends on her Kindle. Most of all, Rosemarie loved and cherished spending time with her loving family.

Surviving are her three sons, Ronald Lee Willis Jr., of Stevens, Joseph Patrick Knight (Shawn), of South Williamsport, and Rodney Allen Willis (Brenda Drasher), of Milton; two daughters, Patricia Ann Willis, of Concord, Calif., and Kimberley Marie Follmer, of South Williamsport; 10 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cathy Stockmaster (Edwin), of California, and Florence Willis, of New York; and her beloved pet bird, Charlie.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Derrig and Michael Derrig, and two sisters, Patricia Monroe and Gail Rye.

Services to honor the life of Rosemarie will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
