Ralph L. Dincher

Ralph L. Dincher, 81, of Bastress, died peacefully Friday, May 31, 2019, surrounded by family at the Williamsport Home. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Carol J. (Welch) Dincher, on Sept. 24, 2011.

Born July 17, 1937, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Viola (Hamm) Dincher.

Ralph served his country in the Army National Guard and at a young age learned the importance of hard work. He later retired after 30 years of employment from Bethlehem Steel/Williamsport Wire Rope.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Ralph enjoyed gardening, hunting, going for walks and to car shows. Family was of utmost importance to Ralph, as he loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events and activities. He was a family man who loved the outdoors and believed in having a strong work ethic.

Surviving are four children, Cynthia L. McDermott (John), of Bastress, Christine L. Good (Steven), of Loyalsock, Jeffrey L. Dincher (Lisa), of Oval, and Jennifer L. Linder (Mark) of Lewisburg; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Carl Dincher (Betty) and Leo Dincher (Cindy), all of Bastress; a brother-in-law, Richard Welch, of Las Vegas; a sister, Sister Margaret Dincher, of New Jersey; many nieces and nephews and a large extended family.

In addition to his wife and parents, Ralph was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Dincher, a sister, Lorraine Ranich, and a grandson, Jeffrey A. Dincher.

A Mass of Christian burial to honor the life of Ralph will be held 10 a.m. Friday, June 7, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 5973 Jacks Hollow Road, Williamsport, with the Rev. Bert S. Kozen, officiating. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport, with a Vigil service to begin at 5:45 p.m.
