Patricia L. (O'Brien) Hammaker

Patricia L. Hammaker, 78, of Duboistown, died peacefully Monday, September 25, 2017 at the Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital from complications of COPD.

Born October 9, 1938 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of James O'Brien and Ethel (Reich) O'Brien Fritz.

Pat was a 1957 graduate of South Williamsport High School. She had worked at Carlucci Aluminum, H. Warshow & Son, GTE Sylvania, and was co-owner of Hammaker Roofing. She had served on Duboistown Council and was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, the Zafar Grottoettes, and Faxon Bowling League. Pat had been a cub scout leader, and the swim coach for South Williamsport during the summer, and the YMCA in the winter.  She enjoyed her fellowship at the Dunkin Donuts Loyalsock coffee club every morning.   

Surviving are her husband of 57 years Gerald C. Hammaker whom she married September 3, 1960, a son Gerald C. Hammaker, II of Williamsport, grandson Payton Eric Hammaker of Williamsport, brother Rodney O'Brien (Gail) of Williamsport, and many nieces and nephews.   

A memorial service to honor the life of Patricia will be held 7 p.m. Friday, September 29 at Messiah Lutheran Church 324 South Howard St. South Williamsport, with the Rev. Joshua L. Reinsburrow officiating. The family will greet visitors following the service in Shaheen Hall at church. Burial will be private in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions in Pat's name be made to Messiah Lutheran Church,  324 S. Howard St. South Williamsport, PA 17702 or Lycoming College memo Patricia Hammaker , mail to Lycoming College Development Office 700 College Place Williamsport, PA 17701 donations will assist the swim team at Lycoming College.
