John H. "Jack" Bricker Jr., 69, of South Williamsport, passed away Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at his home. Surviving is his wife of 40 years, Kathy L. (Johnson) Bricker.
Born Dec. 26, 1948, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late John H. Sr. and F. Lorraine (Spangler) Bricker.
Jack was a 1965 graduate of South Williamsport High School. Following graduation he served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Jack retired from the Lycoming County Prison in 2011 after 18 years as a prison guard and was the owner and operator of Jacks Auto Body Shop for many years.
Jack was a member of the former St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. He also was a member of the LeRoy O. Buck VFW Post No. 7863, Duboistown, Zafar Grotto, and Camp Uno Hunting Club, Bastress. Jack was a mason and loved being outdoors hunting, deep sea fishing, and vegetable gardening. He was very active and enjoyed walking, hiking, biking and swimming. Jack and his wife loved traveling and spending time at the beach. Most of all Jack cherished spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, James E. Bricker (Korrinne), of Millville, Amanda L. Irvin, of Duboistown, and Brooke Hoare (Tristian), of Massachusetts; six grandchildren, Sara Miller, Cassidy, Kaitlyn, and Daniel Bricker, and Caiden and Colin Irvin; a sister, Cherie L. Campbell (Steve), of Lewisburg; and his dog, Buddy.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, David J. Miller on December 27, 2016 and a sister, Cindy L. Bricker.
A funeral service to honor the life of Jack will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport, with the Rev. Kenneth E. Wagner-Pizza officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of service at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.
Burial will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy, with full military honors accorded by the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County.
