Helen E. (Frey) Stiger

Helen E. Stiger, 98, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Frank E. Stiger on Dec. 26, 2017.

Born May 25, 1920, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Stella (Sweeley) Frey.

Helen was employed by Weldon's and later retired from Brodart. She was a member of Heshbon Park United Methodist Church and was involved in the Garden Club and over 50 senior group. Helen loved to entertain and serve others. She will always be remembered for her excellent meals, especially her homemade baked goods, roast chicken, filling and mashed potatoes, some of her families' favorites. Helen was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. 

Surviving are two sons, Marc E. (Lori A.) Stiger, of Montoursville, and Jan C. (Roni S.) Stiger, of Trout Run; a grandson, Dennis G. Sullivan (Tiffany), of Duboistown; a step grandson, Nick L. Seese (Brittnie), of Jersey Shore; five great-grandchildren, Tyra Lorson, Abbi and Hazel Seese, Grant and Rhett Sullivan; a sister-in-law, Norma Cooper, of Endicott, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Helen was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank, Stanley, Elmer, and Charles Frey and two sisters, Miriam Whitman, and Ethel Frey.

A funeral service to honor the life of Helen will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16 at Heshbon Park United Methodist Church, 2898 Heshbon Road, Williamsport. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Heshbon Park UMC. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.

The family will provide flowers, and suggest memorial contributions made in Helen's name to Heshbon Park United Methodist Church, 2898 Heshbon Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
