Fay M. Sagan
Today the angels came calling to take one of their earthbound angels to heaven with God. Fay M. Sagan, 83, of Linden, passed away Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at Rose View Center. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, John Sagan, on Feb. 12, 2014.
Born Dec. 28, 1934, in the village of Linden, she was a daughter of the late Hugh and Martha (Huffman) Hakes.
She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish. She was a former member of the Williamsport Civic Choir and Red Hats Club. Fay was also past president and member of the Local No. 350 United Commercial Travelers and served on their Grand Executive Board for six years.
Fay loved to write poetry and was a published poet. She also enjoyed singing. Fay and her husband John enjoyed traveling and visited many places together. Most of all she cherished spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are her three sons, John K. Sagan, of Linden, Dana P. Sagan (Erica), of Linden, and Michael A. Sagan, of Williamsport; two grandchildren, Jason C. (Michelle) Sagan, of Hawaii and Eric L. Sagan, of Linden; four great-grandchildren, Carter and Makenah, of Linden and Camden and Hanna, of Hawaii; and a brother, Hubert Hakes (Evelyn), of Linden. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Clayton Hakes and a sister, Crystal Wilson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, March 1 at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, with the Rev. Brian F. VanFossen officiating. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, February 28 at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport.
