Edward J. "Ed" Green, 81, of Williamsport, passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2019, at his home surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Anna M. "Micky" (Kauffman) Green.
Born Feb. 25, 1938, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Henry B. and Kathryn I. (Gair) Green.
Ed worked as a driver for Fulmer's Trucking. He was proud of the belt buckle he earned for 20 years of safe driving. Ed was a member of the Newberry Independent Club and the VFW Post No. 7863, Duboistown. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden, going to casinos, playing cards with friends and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, but most of all he loved his family and spending time with them.
Surviving are his children, Kathy J. Mutchler (Roger Funk), of Jersey Shore, Candace R. Scheurer (Bob), of Linden, Kelly A. Voelker (Fred), of Picture Rocks, Edward J. "EJ" Green (Melissa), of Blacksburg, S.C., Karen M. Major (Jeff), and Kendra L. Nilson (Steve), both of Williamsport; 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Shawanna Sholder; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by a brother, Henry B. Green Jr., and two sisters, Darlene Dodson, and Judy Kocher.
A memorial service to honor the life of Ed will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at Knight-Confer.
