Doris E (Stout) Bailey

      Doris E. Bailey, 90, of Trout Run, died Sunday, August 26, 2012 at The Gatehouse Hospice following an extended illness.

     Doris’s husband, Raymond P. Bailey, died July 17, 1986.     

     Born July 15, 1922 in Strawberry Ridge, Montour County, she was the daughter of Jacob and Margaret (Berger) Stout.

     Doris retired from Liberty Mutual and had worked at the Steam Valley Restaurant as a cook after retirement.

     Doris was a member of the Trout Run United Methodist Church, loved watching NASCAR and Steelers football.  She also enjoyed reading, cooking, and being around people.

     Surviving are daughters, Sandra Yoder of Pittsburgh, and Paula Fitzwater of Trout Run; grandchildren, Robert Yoder, Zachary Fitzwater, Amy Hill, and Jaimy Fitzwater and four great-grandchildren.

     She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond P. Bailey, a brother, Charles Stout, and a sister, Nina Baker.          

     Funeral services will be at 11 am Tuesday, September 4 at Knight-Confer’s, 1914 Memorial Avenue with Pastor Marian K. Anderson officiating.  There will be a visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.  Burial will be at Green Lawn Memorial Park.        

     In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions in her name may be made to Trout Run United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 119, Trout Run, PA 17771 or the Susquehanna Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
