Clair W. Dauler, 84, of Williamsport, died Thursday May 2, 2019 at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport surrounded by family.
Born June 25, 1934, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Theodore and Ruth (Newcomer) Dauler.
Clair began and ended his working career at Alcan Cable as a general labourer, where he retired in 1996 after 44 years of service. He attended Buchanan Baptist Church and Oval United Methodist Church. Clair was a member of the Lycoming Creek Sportsmen’s Club, and enjoyed a pre-dawn coffee with friends at Henry’s BBQ. He loved shooting firearms and watching archery, Nascar and tractor pulls, but most of all, enjoyed “picking and teasing” lovingly with his friends and family.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife with whom he would have celebrated 48 years of marriage on September 24, Winetta A. (Holliday) Dauler, are; his two sons, Theodore E. Dauler (Julie) and Todd W. Dauler (Jolene); six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
In addition to his parents, Clair is preceded in death by his sister Betty N. Rice.
A memorial service to honor the life of Clair will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, at Knight-Confer Funeral Home 1914 Memorial Ave, Williamsport with the Rev. Robert W. Regan officiating. Burial will follow in Woodward Township Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.
