     Charlotte T. "Honey" Person, 98, of 139 Lincoln Ave., Williamsport, died on Sept. 12, 2017, at The Gatehouse in Williamsport.


     Honey was born on April 18, 1919, in Williamsport, daughter of the late John J. and Estelle (Carson) Tepel. On Feb. 1, 1947, she was united in marriage to John E. "Jack" Person Jr. of Williamsport, who survives.


     She graduated from Williamsport High School in 1936, and following graduation, attended Dickinson Seminary. Honey was later trained as a medical technician and worked in Harrisburg for a short time. She returned to Williamsport and after her marriage became a homemaker and mother.


     Honey was a member of Pine Street United Methodist Church for more than 60 years, where she served on the altar guild and with the United Methodist Women. She was very active in the community and served on many boards and civic organizations including The Williamsport Hospital Foundation, The Williamsport Home, the YWCA, Junior League (President), Womanás Club (member) and Cub Scout Den Mother.


     Honey loved life and lived it to its fullest. She enjoyed traveling, entertaining and spending time with her family and friends. She was a devoted follower of the activities of each of her eleven grandchildren and seldom missed a sporting or other event.


     In addition to her husband, Honey is survived by sons, John E. Person III, Michael R. (Julie) Person and Thomas T. (Marsha) Person; daughter-in-law, Sandra H. Person, all of Williamsport; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and eight nieces and nephews. 
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David B. Person in 1995; two sisters, Anna Belle (J. Weir) Smith and Elizabeth T. (Robert) Chrisman; and a brother, Chauncy L. Tepel.


     A funeral service will be held on Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, at noon, at Pine Street United Methodist Church, 441 Pine St., Williamsport. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be immediately prior to the service beginning at 10:30 am at the church.
