Charles Leroy “Doc” Dougherty, 83, of Nippenose Valley passed away Sunday October 27, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born July 10, 1936 in Oval, he was a son of the late Harry and Florence (Williams) Dougherty.
He was a 1955 graduate of Jersey Shore Area Senior High School and proudly served his country in the United States Armed Forces. Charles was employed by Jack Fenstermaker Trucking and Spreading Services and then McCormick Dray Line for over 28 years until his retirement.
Charles was a member of Oval United Methodist Church, Oval Hunting Club and Nippenose Valley Volunteer Fire Company. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing with his dog Milo and helping butcher at the Lehman boy’s farm.
He is survived by five children; six grandchildren with one on the way; and a great-grandson.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son and three brothers.
In keeping with Charles’ wishes, services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
