Burr E. Snell, 78, of Williamsport, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019, at the Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital. Surviving is his loving wife of 59 years, Artist M. (Norton) Snell.
Born April 15, 1941, in Shunk, he was a son of the late Ralph A. and Agnes A. (Shadduck) Snell.
Burr retired as a truck driver from Penn Recycling after 45 years of employment. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 145, South Williamsport, and the Newberry Independent Club. He enjoyed hunting and going on car rides with his wife. Most of all he loved pulling garden tractors.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Ronald Snell (Loraine), of Montoursville, two daughters, Marsha Forney (Monte), of Leesburg, Va., and Brenda Barnes (Rick Swartz), of Chambersburg; three grandchildren, Ryan Mabee (Jim), of Charlevoix, Mich., Erin Shumbat (Joe), of Pittsburgh, and Rachel Barnes, of Chambersburg; four great-grandchildren, Tysen, Hayze and Sawyer Shumbat, and Rowan Symonds; a brother, Duane Snell, of SunRise, Fla., and two sisters, Percella Rung, of Buttonwood, and Avinella Sanders, of Williamsport.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Samuel Snell.
In keeping with his wishes services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Burial will be held in Ellenton Cemetery.
