Alma M. Moore, 88, of Muncy, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Valley View Rehab and Nursing Center. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Charles W. Moore.
Born August 15, 1930, in Covington, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late John M. and Dora B. (Thompson) Dennis.
Alma was a member of the Calvary Church of the Nazarene as well as the Twin Hills Church of the Nazarene. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years and loved working with children. Those who knew her well knew her as an avid prayer warrior. Alma was a constant reader and enjoyed arts and crafts. She was a frequent attendant of the American Rescue workers.
Surviving are a son, Charles W. Moore (Linnea), of Welcome, North Carolina, a daughter, Rebecca D. Moore, of Muncy, a brother, Charles Dennis of Kentucky, four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Dennis, and her four sisters, Dorothy Bryan, Maxine Russell, Cheryl Pullium, and Diane Sumpter.
A memorial service to honor the life of Alma will be held 11 a.m. Saturday January 12 at Twin Hills Church of the Nazarene, 578 Cemetery Rd, Muncy. The family will receive friends following the service for a light luncheon at the church.
