Rebecca J. "Becky" Haynes, 75, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022, at the Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital. Surviving is her loving and devoted husband of 56 years, Charles A. Haynes.
Born Dec. 27, 1946, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late James E. and Martha J. (Dugan) Hennigan.
Becky was a 1964 graduate of the Williamsport Area High School, and later received her associates degree in business from Parkland College, Ill. She was employed in civil defense at the Department of Defense for 25 years before retiring in 2008.
Becky was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, going to craft shows, and playing cards, especially set back.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her two children, Andrew J. Haynes (Sylvia), of Texas and Tammy R. Thomas (Don), of Maryland; five grandchildren, William Thomas (Tyler), Andrew Thomas (Franki), Jessica Thomas, Anthony Haynes, and Mark Haynes; one great-granddaughter, Lucia Rae Thomas; and two brothers, Ned M. Hennigan (Terry), of Utah and James E. Hennigan, of Williamsport.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Vonda L. Sullivan.
A memorial service to honor the life of Becky will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Avenue, Williamsport, with the Rev. Lauri A. Kerr officiating. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.
